WebCrunch TechWorks ("WebCrunch", "we", "us") is a software and technology consultancy based in Lagos, Nigeria. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through webcrunch.tech, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the GDPR where it applies to visitors outside Nigeria.
Who is responsible for your data
WebCrunch TechWorks is the data controller. You can contact us about anything in this policy at timothy.fadipe@webcrunch.tech.
What we collect
- Enquiries you send us: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number (optional), the service you're interested in, budget range, timeline and your message.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or WhatsApp.
- Usage data: with your consent, anonymous or pseudonymous analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed, device type, approximate location by country or city).
- Technical data: the IP address and browser information our hosting and security providers process to deliver the site and block abuse.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry and preparing a proposal | Your consent, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Delivering services you've engaged us for | Performance of a contract |
| Protecting the site from spam and abuse | Legitimate interests |
| Understanding site usage through analytics | Your consent (you can decline or withdraw it at any time) |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf and under appropriate safeguards:
- Website hosting and delivery: Vercel Inc.
- Email delivery for enquiry notifications: Resend
- Spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile
- Analytics (only with consent): Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics
Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens we rely on safeguards recognised under the NDPA, such as contractual commitments to protect your data to an adequate standard.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case we keep project records for as long as needed for the engagement and our legal and tax obligations.
Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used, and to access it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted, or its use restricted;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email timothy.fadipe@webcrunch.tech. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Security
We use HTTPS throughout, limit access to personal data to people who need it, and choose providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Cookies
See our Cookie Notice for details of the cookies and similar technologies we use.
